Beautiful pensive ballad dedicated to Dave Samuels, one of Arthur's first mallet teachers and a friend over the years. Arthur saw Dave play this powerful melody with Gerry Mulligan while in High School and that powerful experience stayed with him to this day. Percussionist Damon Grant played with Samuels. Bari sax player Steve Fasoli worked for Mulligan in his office. Arthur plays marimba bass as Dave often did in the duo "Double Image" with another former teacher and friend David Friedman. This track has a very special meaning for all three musicians who performed on it. Recorded at the same studio where Mulligan recorded a big band version of the same song!
